For those wondering why HLC’s versions of the story includes what Tanoopsie says, despite the fact that he doesn’t have the necessary antennae required to understand it, there is a perfectly good explanation – HLC himself didn’t understand what he said, but Trigona, who can understand it.

More than anything, Beeserker is a tale of encryption and family.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to satisfactorily end this flashback, and in doing so, looked at the previous strips from the arc, and came across the startling realization mentioned in today’s comic. The problem with having stories take place in the past is that there are no robots in the past.

Now that I think about it, there HAVE been longer periods of time in which the Beeserker did not appear in the comic, but then again, the Beeserker wasn’t done being built back then.

I wouldn’t get too attached to Whoopsie if I were you.

To say the least, those two cast some unusual silhouettes.

Much like how I think building robots involves hitting metal with tools until it comes alive, beekeeping involves having a lot of exposed skin and killing all the bees.

(Actually, this is a lot more succinct description of the comic than the one I currently have up…)

Drawing Trigona’s reaction to what HLC said was quite possibly the most fun I’ve had making this comic in a while.

Yes, I do realize now that HLC’s apostrophe is in the wrong place. Just pretend that it instead contracts the letter ‘e’ at the end, ok?

Maybe this hasn’t been well established, but Trigona has a very foggy memory of her childhood, so this is all news to her too. Perhaps some horrific event from the past caused her to forget that much about her parents and the portly centaur they hung out with…

In this strip, the Sciencemen employ a variation of the Farnsworth principle.

I don’t usually use references for Trigona’s poses, but when I do, I prefer to take them from bald Russian guys.

Anyway, I’ve been sprucing up the site this week. As you’ll notice, the header has some pretty cool mouseovers and has a bunch of links that look like the worst Scrabble tray ever (I need to sign up for some sites whose names begin with vowels).
